As of 17 August 2026, 08:30 Israel time, Israel’s tourism-relevant security and operational picture remained OPERATE WITH ENHANCED PRECAUTIONS. All six government advisories unchanged. Route 90 near the Dead Sea reopened to two-way traffic on the evening of 16 August after a favorable Southern District assessment following a 15 August flood-driven closure; the heat advisory for that corridor downgraded from red to orange, with a red-level heat warning continuing for the Jordan Valley and northern Arava. The Ben Gurion Airport congestion event first reported on 14 August was confirmed resolved. The Qusra-village (south of Nablus) situation remained unresolved. Ben Gurion Airport remained open and operating, served by 47 airlines as of the last IAA-sourced count (2 August).
